We're looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join our Technology team and help us embed quality earlier, deeper and smarter across everything we ship.

What you will be doing:

As an Automation Test Engineer, you'll work as an embedded quality partner within our Engineering team, sitting alongside developers, not separate from them.

This is a hands-on, technical role. You’ll build automation frameworks, get your hands on Playwright and leverage AI tools like Claude Code, and help us ship features the team is genuinely proud of.

  • Build and maintain E2E test suites using Playwright, growing coverage as the FleetGuru platform accelerates.

  • Perform API, GraphQL, and integration testing as a core part of every feature delivery.

  • Use Claude Code to turbocharge test authoring and build reusable, scalable testing frameworks.

  • Collaborate with developers and BAs to define acceptance criteria before a single line of code is written.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines so automated tests are baked into every build.

  • Champion shift-left testing: partner with devs to catch issues earlier and reduce manual regression.

  • Select, implement, and maintain the testing tools that keep our engineering engine purring.

  • Keep test repositories clean, fast, and meaningful; no flaky tests allowed in this garage.

About You:

  • IT degree or comparable industry experience.

  • Proven experience designing and building automation test suites.

  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for E2E test automation.

  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and where quality fits across it.

  • Hands-on experience with API and GraphQL testing.

  • Comfortable working alongside developers and contributing to engineering conversations.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into build processes.

  • Curiosity about AI and how tools like Claude Code can accelerate and enhance the quality engineering workflow.

  • Strong communication skills, you can translate quality thinking into language developers and stakeholders both understand.

  • Based on the Gold Coast or willing to relocate.

Bonus if you've worked with:

  • AWS cloud platform.

  • Performance and scalability testing.

  • AI-assisted development tools, including using Claude Code or similar for test generation and automation.

  • Shift-left or BDD/TDD methodologies.
